I think people just get confused easily - the wiki format is unusual, and if you are already unsure as to how to do something, and then all the technical talk....

Blacklist installed

We now have a global and a local spam blacklist. The global spam blacklist is at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Spam_blacklist, and is the one used by all Wikimedia wikis. It is fetched daily, so we get their updates automatically. The local one is at MediaWiki:Spam blacklist, and you can add hostnames there using the same syntax as in the Wikimedia list.--Eloquence 03:15, 14 December 2005 (CET)
